Frankfurt offers a whole range of varied shopping
possibilities; in the mega-shopping street "Die Zeil", downtown,
or for quieter surroundings, in the shopping areas of the
different districts.
Shopping downtown
The key spot for shopping in downtown Frankfurt is on Zeil
street , with the Zeilgalerie shopping mall and various other
stores. Goethe street is also located downtown and here you
can enjoy stores carrying international designer labels. Those
in need of a snack just need to walk a few meters to find
themselves on the 'Freßgass', "glutton alley", to
dig into the culinary world. Shopping in town can be topped
off by visiting one of the many attractions close by, such
as the varied museums, galleries and cafes, all within walking
distance.
Shopping in the outer
districts
Those interested in shopping further away from the city center
should visit the various districts of Frankfurt, Bornheim,
Bockenheim or Sachsenhausen. On Berger, Leipziger and Schweizer
streets you will encounter many small boutiques, second-hand
stores, cafes and a delightful multicultural shopping atmosphere.
Shopping malls
Another alternative are shopping malls, offering a whole range
of goods. Several shopping malls can be found somewhat further
away from the city center in Nordweststadt or at the airport;
downtown the most prominent is the Zeilgalerie with its ultra
modern architecture.
