Why Havana?

Havana is definitely a one-of-a-kind place. There is nothing like this mixture of cultures, sounds, colors and rhythms, which is sure to turn any visitor’s trip here into a memorable experience.

  • A city of contrasts, Havana has a certain timelessness about it, due to the extensive preservation of its colonial features, however the ever faster growing tourist industry is making this charming city into a true international destination with most of today’s modern comforts.
  • Havana has an endless list of activities which visitors will be able to enjoy on their holidays.
  • This city was where Hemingway decided to live for over 20 years. One of his favorite ways to while away the time here was drinking cocktails in Havana’s charming bars and fishing off the coast in his yacht “El Pilar”.
  • An all important feature of Havana is definitely the locals. Very warm, hospitable and friendly with visitors, they are always willing to lend a hand by giving you information, offering you some of Cuba’s exquisite coffee or telling you all about Cuban culture, customs and traditions.
  • Christopher Columbus, who was the first European to set foot on the island, said that it was “one of the most beautiful islands that human eyes have ever seen…”
