Madrid City Museum
This museum consists of five round floors which enable visitors to experience a very thorough journey through the city's impressive history. The museum was only opened in 1992, however its displays cover everything from the Moors and the origin of Madrid, through to modern times. One of the floors focuses on infrastructure, while the others present the city's history and urban developments, and temporary exhibitions of various sorts. Exhibition pieces include mementos of famous or important historical figures from the city’s past, paintings, sculptures and other displays from various periods in history. The building also houses a collection of fascinating models of urban areas and important buildings in the city as well as documents and photography.
