This impressive bullring is located in the Salamanca district of Madrid.  It is the largest in the world, with a capacity of around 25, 000 spectators.  The arena was completed in 1929, The bullfighting season begins in March and ends in December; during these months fights are held every Sunday at around 7pm, and last for several hours. In summer, rock and pop concerts are held in the huge arena, and it has also been used for tennis. The Museo Taurinos (Bullfighting Museum), with its many interesting and historical exhibits on the art of bullfighting, is also a part of the bullring.
