Archaeological Museum (Musée des Antiquites St Germain-en-Laye)

This museum focuses on the origins of men in France. The archaeological displays and exhibitions include some of the first man-made tools to be used, right through to the age of Charlemagne. Exhibitions include Prehistory, the Metal Age; the Celts, the Gallo-Romans and the Merovingians. Adding to the museum’s historic value is the fact that it is located in the very same castle where several French kings lived (François I, Henri IV and Louis XIII) and where Louis XIV was born.
