Louvre Art Museum (Musée du Louvre)
The most famous of all museums in Paris, the Louvre is a must-see on your itinerary when visiting Paris, even if you only have enough time to see a few of the exhibitions this immense museum houses. The museum is divided into seven different departments including collections of works dating back to the birth of some of the oldest civilizations through to works of the first half of last century. As the main protector of the historical and artistic treasures of France, the Louvre’s own history is also fascinating. It first opened its doors in 1793.
