Germany is probably the country with the most festivals in Europe; almost all towns and villages, big or small, have their summer fair and a wide range of Christian and pagan celebrations that have melded throughout the years, filling up the calendar.

The most famous German festival is undoubtedly the legendary Oktoberfest from Munich, but Carnaval and the Christmas holidays are among the most highly regarded in Germany. There are also a large number of music festivals, from opera to open-air jazz and rock concerts, namely the Love Parade, where each year a different German city is turned into one giant nightclub.
