Shopping in Germany
- One of the best cities in Germany to shop around in is without a doubt, Frankfurt. There are various shopping streets, districts and malls where stores and shops abound. Don't miss the futuristic "My Zeil" mall in the city center, for example. The most important are those selling furs and antiquities; crystal ware and photographic and optical goods are also great options.
- Düsseldorf, fashion and design centre, features "Kö" boulevard. The Königsallee is one of the largest and grandest avenues in Germany , lined with chestnut trees and all sorts of boutiques. All haute couture fashion houses have one of their boutiques on the Kö, one of the most exclusive shopping avenues in the country.
- The famous "Lederhosen" pants, very similar to the famous Austrian article of clothing, are typical of the Bavarian region.
- In Berlin you can usually find almost anything, and prices are usually not as high as in other German cities. The German capital has several shopping streets such as the Kurfürstendamm, with over 1,000 stores especially catering for international label clothing. Berlin is also a mecca for those shoppers who like flea markets and second hand shops. In the old East Berlin area you will be sure to find interesting local crafts, as well as those from nearby countries, such as Poland or Russia.
