The airports closest to Florence are Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence, also known as Peretola Airport, and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa. You can reach one of the mentioned airports with the following airlines (among others):

From Peretola Airport to Florence

Peretola Airport, which is named after the famous Italian sailor and navigator Amerigo Vespucci, is only a few kilometers away from the city of Florence. These are your travel options:

  • By bus: Being a small airport, you can easily catch buses of the bus line "Vola in Bus" to Florence station “Santa Maria Novella”.
  • By taxi: You could also get a taxi directly at the airport. It will cost you about EUR 25.00 to get to your accommodation.

From Pisa Airport to Florence

Galileo Galilei Airport is 1.5 km away from Pisa and about 90 km from Florence. This is our recommendation of reaching the Italian language school in Florence:

  • By train: From the airport, there are direct trains to the main station of Florence. But as the connection from the airport is not very good, we recommend you take the city bus to the main train station in Pisa (only a 5-minute journey). You will find the train schedule to Florence at Pisa Airport. Your destination train station will be Santa Maria Novella. From there you can take a taxi or a bus to your accommodation.
