Junior English Camps in the UK

SPRACHCAFFE has been running supervised teen English summer camps in the UK since 1983. Our junior programme welcomes teenagers across three locations: Brighton (ages 12–17), London North (ages 12–17) and London Ealing (ages 14–17). All lessons are run by qualified native English-speaking teachers, with full supervision by trained Teamers.

Every camp is fully all-inclusive: English lessons, full-board accommodation, a daily afternoon and evening activity programme, weekly excursions, Teamer supervision, a structured curfew for students aged 17 and under, and 24/7 emergency support.

"So far, I have nothing to complain about. I find the environment really relaxed, with lots of sharing of experiences and people from different cultures, which adds a lot to the immersion and to learning English. Our teacher Joana is always cheerful and brings really good activities that make us interact productively - and the content itself is very dynamic."

Real British English

Spending two to four weeks in England exposes teenagers to authentic native-speaker English — far beyond what any classroom at home can replicate. According to Cambridge Assessment English (part of the University of Cambridge), learners typically need around 200 hours of guided learning to progress from one CEFR level to the next. SPRACHCAFFE's Standard Course delivers 20 lessons per week (15 hours of teaching), supplemented by constant authentic English exposure outside the classroom — at the breakfast table, in shops, on the bus, and with classmates from across Europe and Asia.

For most teenagers, two to four weeks of intensive UK immersion delivers measurable progress: around half a CEFR level for beginners, and a full level for intermediate students.

Why Choose England for a Teen English Summer Camp

England is the top teen English destination, and for good reason:

  • It leads the global English Language Teaching (ELT) market, with a 38% share - and 62% of UK ELT students are under 18.
  • The ages of 12 to 17 are ideal for language learning, combining cognitive flexibility with the maturity needed to grasp grammar.
  • UK language schools are regulated under the British Council's Accreditation UK scheme. SPRACHCAFFE London Ealing has been accredited since 1990.

Safe, Supervised, and Supported

  • Trained Teamers - qualified young-adult activity leaders aged 20 to 30 - supervise every SPRACHCAFFE UK summer camp. Each Teamer is responsible for around 15 students and stays with the group from morning lessons through to evening activities, living at the same residence.
  • Structured curfew for under-18s. Students aged 17 and under follow the full supervised activity schedule and a clearly defined curfew. Free time is supervised by Teamers throughout.
  • 24/7 emergency support. A dedicated emergency line is available throughout the stay, and on-site staff are always reachable.
  • Full-board accommodation. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included at all camps. Vegetarian, halal and allergy-friendly options can be arranged at the time of booking.
  • Airport transfers are available from designated airports during standard arrival and departure windows; private transfers can be arranged outside these times.
  • Unaccompanied minor service is available where airlines require it.
  • We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive medical and travel insurance before departure. Insurance can be arranged through SPRACHCAFFE at the time of booking.

Stays range from one to six weeks, depending on the location. Most families opt for a two-week programme, which gives students enough time to settle in and make real progress - and friendships form that last long beyond the summer. Longer stays of four weeks or more are also available; the longer the stay, the more students gain. Current starting dates are listed on our location pages.

SPRACHCAFFE's UK teen English camps welcome students aged 12 to 17, with age ranges set per destination:

  • Brighton: ages 12-17
  • London North: ages 12-17
  • London Ealing: ages 14-17

Students are grouped by both age and CEFR language level. No prior knowledge of English is required for beginner levels (A1).

Every SPRACHCAFFE camp is supervised by trained Teamers - young adults aged between 20 and 30 who travel with the group at all times. Each Teamer looks after around 15 students. Students aged 17 and under observe a curfew and follow the full leisure programme as a group. Full-board accommodation means meals and evenings are fully covered. We strongly recommend purchasing medical and travel insurance before departure.
