By learning German students will come into more direct contact with authors of the German, Swiss and Austrian language. These countries, whose literature originated in the Middle Ages and flourished during the so-called Classic Period and during the Romantic Period with Goethe, Schiller and Hölderlin, offer a broad and varied range of literate works. Even to this day German, Swiss and Austrian authors continue to contribute excellent stories, novels, poems and other dramatic works.
