Rhineland-Palatinate
Founded in 1946 between Frankfurt and the borders with France, Belgium and Luxembourg, this German State is actually a conglomerate of parts of other provinces and regions. Rhineland-Palatinate is bathed by the Rhine and Mosel Rivers. Its cities, such as Maguncia, Kaiserslautern, Tréveris or Coblenza each possess interesting features and one will come across one of the most breathtakingly beautiful landscapes in Germany: the romantic Rhine Valley nestled between Bingen and Bonn, with its castles and vineyards. This region has the highest rate of export in the whole of Germany given the demand for its goods, especially the renowned wines - two thirds of the country's total wine production comes from this region - ceramics, leather and glass.
