German Hip Hop Music - Fünf Sterne De Luxe

Fünf Sterne deluxe was a German-language hip-hop band from Hamburg, Germany, founded in mid-1997. They released two albums and a number of singles and EPs, before the group was dissolved in 2004.

The band from Hamburg, whose name could be translated into 5 Stars Deluxe, was considered as being one of the greatest formations on the German hip hop scene. Their intelligent and ironic lyrics are shot off by the 4 rappers Das Bo, Tobi Tobsen, Marcnesium and DJ Coolmann over low funky lines and catching rhythms.

Their 1997 album Sillium is especially recommendable; it includes a song they recorded along with North American rapper Biz Markie, famous for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys. The soloist single edited by Das Bo, one of its members and titles Türlich Türlich is also recommended listening.
