Malaga’s great sub tropical climate and coastal allure
ensure its thriving nightlife, especially during the ‘crazy
summer’ months. There is something for everyone, from
charming back street tapas bars to traditional gypsy flamenco
events and performances as well as a modern disco and club
scene.
The focal point in Malaga’s nightlife is generally found
northeast of the cathedral along the streets named Granada
and Beatas and the streets around Plaza de Uncibay, as well
as in Malagueta, south of the bullring. Most clubs and discos
are found in this area although there are some great places
tucked away in fairly unlikely places which only the locals
know about.
People here get started late – they leave home around
midnight and go bar and club cruising, in most cases until
dawn. It is quite common here to see people leaving a bar
or nightclub with the sun’s first rays and stop over
for some breakfast.
