If you are a citizen of the European Union, you can study in Italy without a visa. Participants from outside the European Union may need to apply for a short-term study visa (for stays up to 90 days) or a long-term student visa for extended programmes. Regarding work, EU citizens can work in Italy without restrictions. Non-EU students with a valid long-term student visa are generally allowed to work part-time under Italian regulations. Short-term visa holders are usually not permitted to work.
