The island of Cuba has a very rich cultural background and past to tell about. From the original Ciboney who first inhabited the island in the Caribbean Sea to its colonization by the Spanish and subsequent independence, the Cubans have had a tumultuous past, and Cuba has played significant roles in many international scenarios, such as the Cuban missile crisis. Cuba’s history naturally influences the island’s current state of affairs, which involves a somewhat precarious economy and delicate political situations.
