We traveled as a group of students with teachers for 1 week. We were extremely satisfied with the quality of lessons, the equipment of the school and the furnishings of the rooms. The campus is large, with nice gardens and a large swimming pool, which students have always enjoyed using. The food was in the form of buffet and there was always a good selection of food. During our stay, we had activities that were always excellently organized and the school staff was always available and willing to help with everything. Overall, we rate the stay in Malta and the Sprachcaffe school as excellent, and we are definitely going to come back. Thank you for your great service and we wish you many happy students.

Best campus in Malta

St. Julian's is the heart of modern Malta — a lively waterfront promenade, bustling restaurants, and a vibrant social scene. The SPRACHCAFFE Club Village has welcomed international students here since 1991.

Our limestone buildings house air-conditioned classrooms, a library, and a study common room. Beyond them: a large swimming pool at the heart of campus, a restaurant and bar, a games room, and a beach volleyball court. A 24-hour reception means support is always on hand.

Walking distances from campus:

  • Mediterranean coast — 5 minutes
  • St. Julian's beach — 10 minutes
  • Sliema waterfront — 15 minutes
  • Valletta  — 30 minutes by bus

The Club Village is fully FELTOM-accredited, Malta's official government-recognised quality mark for English-language schools

So far, I have nothing to complain about regarding the school. I find the environment really relaxed, with lots of experience sharing and people from different cultures, which adds a lot to the immersion and learning of English.
Teacher Joana is always cheerful and brings really good activities that make us interact productively, besides the content itself being very dynamic.

Why Malta works for adult learners

Learning English as an adult is a different experience from a school classroom. You arrive with purpose and a clear sense of what real progress looks like. SPRACHCAFFE's Malta programme is designed for participants from their twenties through to their fifties and beyond - professionals, independent travellers, career changers, and people investing in themselves. No school groups, no teenagers.

Your classmates are architects, teachers, engineers, business owners, and specialists who made a deliberate choice to spend a few weeks abroad. The conversations that happen poolside or over dinner carry real depth.

Malta itself rewards curiosity. A UNESCO World Heritage capital (Valletta), Bronze Age temples (the Maltese Megalithic Temples are among the oldest free-standing structures in the world, dating from approximately 3600 BC), a dramatic coastline, and a Mediterranean pace that makes it easy to slow down. Our weekly leisure programme includes guided visits to Valletta, Mdina ("the Silent City"), the Blue Lagoon on Comino, and Malta's prehistoric temples. Sports and social events at the Club Village round out the week.

Accommodation sits on or close to campus. You stay in a twin or triple room in the Club Village, or with a local Maltese family on a homestay. Full board is included across all options. Dietary requirements are catered for when noted at booking.

Malta is the world's first country to enact a specific law regulating English-language schools. FELTOM was instrumental in establishing this legal framework, making Malta a globally unique destination where ELT is government-regulated by statute.

Malta is one of Europe's most accessible and rewarding destinations for an English language course. English has been an official language of Malta for over a century, which means you'll hear and use it everywhere - not just in the classroom. Shop assistants, restaurant staff, and local residents all communicate in English as a matter of course, so the immersion is genuine and constant.

The Mediterranean climate, the remarkable history, and the relaxed pace of life make it far easier to stay motivated and enjoy the process. For adult learners particularly, Malta offers something rare: a destination that feels like a real holiday while delivering real language progress.

We welcome adult participants at every level, from complete beginner (A1) to advanced (C1). On the first morning of your English course in Malta, you'll complete a placement test that puts you in the right group straight away. If at any point during your stay you feel the level needs adjusting, our teaching team will work with you to get it right. Groups are kept small - a maximum of ten students per class in most courses - which gives teachers the flexibility to personalise their approach and give you the attention your progress deserves.

For participants based in Germany and certain other European countries, our English courses in Malta can qualify as recognised educational leave - known in Germany as Bildungsurlaub. This allows eligible employees to take additional leave from work to attend a certified language programme and have it count as professional development. We provide a letter of acceptance for this purpose, and our courses are structured to meet the relevant educational leave requirements. Eligibility rules vary by region and employer, so we recommend confirming the details with your HR department or regional authority before booking. We are happy to support you through the process.

We offer a Standard Course of 20 lessons per week and an Intensive Course of 30 lessons per week, both running from beginner to advanced level. Business Language workshops are available as weekly add-ons, covering practical professional communication including meetings, negotiations, presentations, and job applications. Cambridge and IELTS exam preparation courses run for participants at the relevant levels. All adult English courses in Malta at SPRACHCAFFE include the free Study Club - four additional supported sessions per week at no extra cost. Visit our Malta programme pages or request a personalised offer for current options and availability.

A standard package at our adults-only St. Julian's campus includes your English course, on-campus accommodation with full board, a leisure programme with guided activities and excursions, and support from our team throughout your stay. Airport transfers are available as an add-on, and the number of included excursions grows with the length of your stay.

Optional upgrades include the Intensive Course, Business Language or exam preparation workshops, and the Intensive Leisure Programme.

A placement test and end-of-course certificate are included in every package. For full details and current availability, visit our Malta programme page or contact the SPRACHCAFFE team directly for a personalised offer.
