So far, I have nothing to complain about regarding the school. I find the environment really relaxed, with lots of experience sharing and people from different cultures, which adds a lot to the immersion and learning of English. Teacher Joana is always cheerful and brings really good activities that make us interact productively, besides the content itself being very dynamic.

Real British English

Spending two to four weeks in England exposes teenagers to authentic native-speaker English — far beyond what any home classroom can replicate. According to Cambridge Assessment English (part of the University of Cambridge), learners typically need around 200 hours of guided learning to progress from one CEFR level to the next. SPRACHCAFFE's Standard Course delivers 20 lessons per week (15 hours of teaching), supplemented by constant authentic English exposure outside the classroom — at the breakfast table, in shops, on the bus, with classmates from across Europe and Asia.

For most teenagers, two to four weeks of intensive UK immersion delivers measurable movement of half a CEFR level for beginners, and one full level for intermediate students.

Why England for Teen Summer camps

England is the top teen English destination because:

  1. It leads the global ELT market (38% share), with 62% of UK ELT students under 18.
  2. Ages 12-17 are ideal for language learning, combining cognitive flexibility with grammar-learning maturity.
  3. UK schools are strictly regulated by British Council Accreditation UK; SPRACHCAFFE London Ealing has been accredited since 1990.

Stays range from one to six weeks depending on the location. Most families opt for a two-week programme. This gives students enough time to settle in and make real progress. Friendships form that last long beyond summer. Longer stays of four weeks or more are also available. The longer the stay, the more students gain. Current starting dates are listed on our location pages.

SPRACHCAFFE's UK teen English camps welcome students aged 12 to 17, with age ranges set per destination:

  • Brighton: ages 12-17
  • London North: ages 12-17
  • London Ealing: ages 14-17

Students are grouped by both age and CEFR language level. No prior knowledge of English is required for beginner levels (A1).

Every SPRACHCAFFE camp is supervised by trained Teamers. These are young adults aged between 20 and 30. They travel with the group at all times. Each Teamer looks after around 15 students. Students aged 17 and under observe a curfew and follow the full leisure programme as a group. Full board accommodation means meals and evenings are fully covered. We strongly recommend purchasing medical travel insurance before departure.
