Why the Community Loves SPRACHCAFFE France

Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality and the duration of your course. EU/EEA citizens do not require a visa for language stays. For non-EU citizens, a tourist visa allows you to study for up to 90 days.

If you plan to stay longer or join our Work & Study programme, you will need to apply for a long-stay visa (Visa de Long Séjour) before arriving in France. Sprachcaffe provides a Letter of Acceptance and supports you with the necessary documentation to apply. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the French consulate in your country.

If you hold a long-stay student visa for France, you are generally allowed to work up to 964 hours per year (about 20 hours per week). This applies only if your course meets the official criteria for higher education. Sprachcaffe's long-term and Work & Study programmes may qualify.

However, short-term course students or those on tourist visas are not permitted to work. We support our long-term students by helping them with CV preparation and basic job search advice to ease their entry into the local job market.

France offers a rich tapestry of history, culture, and culinary delight. Here are ten must-see attractions for your time outside class:

  1. Eiffel Tower, Paris - Iconic and always impressive.
  2. Promenade des Anglais, Nice - Perfect for relaxing by the sea.
  3. Louvre Museum, Paris - Home to masterpieces like the Mona Lisa.
  4. Old Town, Nice (Vieux Nice) - Colourful alleys, markets, and cafés.
  5. Palace of Versailles - A stunning glimpse into royal history.
  6. Mont Saint-Michel - A fairy-tale island and architectural wonder.
  7. French Riviera Beaches - Crystal-clear waters and sunshine.
  8. Provence Lavender Fields - A sensory journey through purple landscapes.
  9. Wine tasting in Bordeaux - A must for wine lovers.
  10. Châteaux of the Loire Valley - Discover fairytale castles and gardens.

The minimum age to participate in our adult courses in France is 18. Our programmes are designed for mature learners seeking to improve their language skills while enjoying a culturally enriching environment. For younger students aged 12-21, we offer separate U20 programmes tailored to their needs.

Adult courses ensure a focused yet relaxed atmosphere, with plenty of opportunities for networking, exploring, and making international connections.

Reaching France is easy and convenient, no matter where in the world you're coming from. As one of Europe's best-connected countries, France welcomes international students with excellent infrastructure and reliable transport options.

From the EU:
Travelling to France from other European countries is fast and affordable. High-speed trains such as the TGV and Thalys connect cities like Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Barcelona directly to Paris or Nice. Low-cost airlines including Ryanair and easyJet offer regular flights to French destinations, while buses such as FlixBus and BlaBlaCar Bus provide budget-friendly alternatives.

From Latin America (LATAM):
Students from countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, or Colombia can fly to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY) airports, both of which offer direct connections from major LATAM hubs. From the airport, it's easy to connect to regional cities by domestic flight, train, or shuttle service. If you're heading to Sprachcaffe's school in Nice, several airlines offer one-stop connections via Europe.

From Asia:
Major airlines operate direct flights from cities like Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, and Shanghai to Paris CDG. With one-stop routes available to Nice, students from Asia have smooth access to France's Mediterranean coast. For convenience, Sprachcaffe can arrange airport transfers upon request.

Travelling within France:
Once in France, you'll benefit from a modern, efficient transport system. Trains are fast and frequent between cities, and the regional TER trains are ideal for day trips. Urban areas like Nice offer reliable public transport including trams, buses, and bike-sharing services. Taxis, ride-sharing apps, and airport shuttles are also widely available.

At Sprachcaffe, we help organise your arrival and guide you on the best local transport options to make your stay seamless from the very first day. Whether you arrive by plane or train, your French language adventure begins the moment you set foot in the country.
