Simple answers to your important questions

Yes, Italy is generally a very safe country to visit or live in. Like any popular destination, you should stay aware of pickpocketing in busy tourist areas, but violent crime is rare. Italians are warm, expressive and community-oriented, and most visitors feel very welcomed. Cities and towns are well-policed and medical care is of a high standard.

Italy is a country where every corner tells a story. You can explore ancient ruins in Rome, sail past colorful cliffs on the Amalfi Coast, taste wine in the rolling hills of Tuscany, or ride a gondola through Venice's dreamy canals. One of the most iconic and authentic cities is Florence: the cradle of the Renaissance. It's a place where art, architecture and history come alive. You can visit Michelangelo's David, stroll across the Ponte Vecchio, and watch the sun set behind the Duomo. Florence also has a youthful, artistic energy thanks to its student population, making it both inspiring and fun. With everything that Italy offers, this country is an unforgettable place for your language trip.
