Poitou-Charentes

Poitou-Charentes is said to be one of the sunniest parts of the western coast of France, with a mild climate. A popular seaside destination, it has a coast lined with sandy beaches and pleasant sea resorts. Further inland are lush pine forests and wooded valleys, crossed by dreamy canals. In Poitou-Charentes there are many ancient memorials to be found, especially Romanic buildings and coastal fortifications.

The regional cuisine is delightful and together with the jolly maritime traditions and well-known festivals, Poitou-Charentes is a popular place for visitors.
