Yes, Vancouver is considered one of the safest major cities in North America, making it an excellent choice for international students and travellers.
The city has a low rate of violent crime, clean and well-maintained public spaces, and a reliable public transport system that's safe to use even in the evening. Areas like Downtown, West End, and Kitsilano are popular and secure, with a visible police presence and a welcoming, multicultural atmosphere.
Like any urban area, it's best to stay aware of your surroundings, avoid the Downtown Eastside late at night, and keep valuables secure-but overall, Vancouver offers a safe and friendly environment to live, study, and explore.
