Another great advantage of our language school in Havana is its proximity to the sea: the beautiful Caribbean beaches are quick and easy to reach! Havana was founded in 1515 and was one of the early trade centers in the New World. It is now the capital and commercial center of Cuba. Havana is made up of three districts: Old Havana, Vedado, and the newer suburban districts to the west (including the exclusive Miramar, where our school is located).
Explore Havana's cultural treasures like the Capitol, Malecón, Paseo del Prado, El Morro fortress, and Plaza de la Catedral. Enjoy Caribbean beaches, vintage car tours, museums, churches, local shopping, and the rum museum. Beyond the city, discover stunning surroundings such as Viñales Valley, Surgidero de Batabanó, El Volcán, and the beaches of San José de las Lajas.
Experience the best of Havana: explore the Museo de la Revolución, located in the elegant former presidential palace, where exhibits tell the story of Cuba's revolutionary past. Stroll along the famous El Malecón, an eight-kilometre seaside promenade lined with colourful colonial buildings and full of life-especially during the vibrant summer carnival. Just outside the city, the tobacco fields of Viñales Valley offer breathtaking views of green plantations, red soil, and majestic limestone hills. This peaceful rural setting provides a unique glimpse into Cuba's natural beauty and traditional way of life.

Yes, you will most likely need a visa to study in Havana, but in most cases, this is a tourist visa (also called a tourist card), which is easy to obtain for short-term language courses.
Here's what you need to know:
- Tourist Card (Tarjeta del Turista):
Most students enter Cuba with a tourist card, which is valid for 30 days and can usually be extended once for another 30 days while in Cuba. - Where to get it:
You can get the card through your airline, travel agency, or a Cuban consulate before departure. Sprachcaffe also helps with required documents, like a booking confirmation or an invitation letter if needed. - Passport:
Must be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned stay. - Insurance:
You are required to have valid travel health insurance accepted in Cuba. Proof may be requested upon arrival.
If you plan to stay longer or come from a country with specific visa requirements, it's best to check with the Cuban embassy or consulate in your country-or reach out to Sprachcaffe for personalised assistance.
