Pablo Ruiz Picasso Foundation

The Pablo Ruiz Picasso Foundation was set up in 1988, not only in his birth town, but in the very house he was born in. The Foundation was created in honor of this famous Spanish painter, born in 1895. The main contributors for the museum were Cristine Ruiz-Picasso and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, daughter-in-law and grandson, who donated a total of 204 pieces of their own private collection.

The Museum contains a video library with films on Picasso’s conferences and exhibitions, a sound archive library and a library containing over 1200 volumes on 20th century art. A photo and slide archive is also part of the museum, along with many of Picasso’s masterpieces. Overall the museum thoroughly represents this Malagan artist’s life and work.
