Yes, Rome is generally a safe destination for young people. As in any major city it is important to stay aware of your surroundings, but with normal precautions you can explore the city with confidence. Rome is well organised, very popular with school groups and young travellers, and most students feel comfortable there very quickly.

There is plenty to do for young people in Rome. Students can start their trip with an orientation walk and then explore the city at their own pace. In the afternoons they can visit world-famous sights such as the Colosseum the Roman Forum the Vatican Museums or the Trevi Fountain. There is also the option to enjoy Italian gelato tasting as a fun cultural highlight. In short Rome offers countless opportunities to discover history art delicious food and daily Italian city life.

Anyone can request a group or school trip with SPRACHCAFFE, including school classes, families and groups of friends. Educational groups such as school or university students are welcome. Rome is easy to reach via Rome Ciampino Airport.

Ciampino Airport is located about 30 minutes from the city centre and is known for offering many low-cost flight connections. From the airport you can easily reach Rome by bus or shuttle services that connect directly to major train stations such as Termini. Once in the city, getting around is simple with buses, metro or taxis, and Rome is the perfect starting point to explore the entire region. There are regular transport links to famous sights such as the Colosseum, the Vatican and many other iconic attractions.

The main contact person during the trip is the designated SPRACHCAFFE group coordinator. They manage communication between the school, staff, and families at all times. SPRACHCAFFE also has an emergency phone number that is always available, day and night, so parents and teachers can reach someone immediately if needed.

If you are from the EU, students and staff need a valid passport or national ID card. Minors travelling without both parents should carry a signed parental consent form.

If you are from outside the EU, a valid passport is required and, depending on nationality, a Schengen visa may also be needed. Border control may ask for proof of accommodation, return travel, and a parental consent form for minors.
