Students in these grades are usually between 12 and 16 years old. Senior secondary school consists of Year 11 and Year 12, where students are typically 16 to 18 years old.
School Year: The school year usually begins in late January or early February and ends in December.
School Hours : Most high schools operate Monday to Friday, with classes running from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

By Year 10, students choose the remaining subjects from four main areas of study: Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, The Arts, and Technology and Applied Studies. In Years 11 and 12, students select specialized subjects that align with their interests and future career goals.
School Uniform: Wearing a school uniform is mandatory in almost all Australian schools, both public and private. Each school has its own uniform, which may include shirts, skirts, trousers, blazers, and hats.
School Holidays : Australian high schools have several breaks throughout the year:
- Easter Break: March/April
- Winter Break: June/July
- Spring Break: September/October
- Summer Break: December/January
