Spain is rich in culture, traditions and history. There are many festivals and generally everything is celebrated. Here, of course, flamenco is often danced, sung or played as traditional music, which is now even considered Spanish cultural heritage. In Spain, everyone is rather relaxed and patient. So even at lunchtime in smaller companies there is no work, because between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. there is a siesta. The openness and friendliness of Spaniards also makes it easy to overcome language barriers - because they often communicate with many gestures and intonations, which makes it easier to understand.

Spaniards are very keen on sports, not only because they want to stay fit, but also because of the shared activity - whether it's football, dancing or water sports. As many cities in Spain are located by the sea, you can of course spend unforgettable beach days here and enjoy the Spanish sun. Snorkelling and boat trips are also popular here. Not only the beach is beautiful, but also the Spanish cities. The often old buildings, palm trees at the side of the road and small alleyways make the cities fair.

What could be better than sitting on the terrace of a Spanish restaurant on a warm summer evening and eating tapas? The small dishes that you usually share with your friends are really varied and range from patatas barvas (potato wedges) to olives to Manchego (Spanish cheese) - there are no limits to the ideas. You often get bread spread with tomato sauce on the table before eating in the restaurant. A popular national dish is Spanish paella. This rice dish is traditionally served with vegetables and fish or chicken. If you prefer sweet things, you should definitely try churros. They are usually eaten with sugar or chocolate sauce. Dinner is delayed, especially in summer - it can be as late as 9 or 10 pm.

In Spain, there are 6 other official languages in the different regions besides "High Spanish". Of course, everyone here understands normal Spanish, which is what you plan to learn. As Spain is a very touristy country, most people here also speak good English. Did you also know that Spain is a kingdom? The king represents the country at festivals and special occasions. If you're in Spain for New Year's Eve, don't forget your grapes! Because traditionally, you have to eat a grape at each of the 12 chimes from 00:00 onwards.
