All these different cultures have helped creating Brazil's unique culture, a mix of art, nature, sport, and amazing food. From soccer, the national sport, to Cristo Redentor, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, to Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, the largest carnival in the world, there is just so much to discover and explore. Brazil is a truly wonderful destination for nature lovers. Rainforests, beaches, mountains: the country has it all. And how can one forget the Amazon river, the second longest river in the world. Also worth seeing are the Iguazú Falls on the border with Argentina.

Frequently Asked Questions about High School in Brasil

You will stay with a previously screened and approved host family. The student's needs and interests will be met as much as possible with those of the host family.

Yes, in many schools students are required to wear a school uniform.

As a rule, school in Brazil goes from about 7 am to 12 pm. That is 5 lessons of 50 minutes each.

Yes, students are supervised on site and can call the supervisor by phone for questions or in case of emergencies.

Family visits are possible only at the end of the program.

Students are not allowed to work during their high school stay.

In Brazil there are many options to travel locally. The large metropolitan areas of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo have modern metro networks, and in most citiesbuses and minivans are the most common way of getting around. It is also possible for your host family to take you where you need to go if they have a car.

Due to insurance reasons, students are not allowed to sign up for driving courses. It is also not allowed to drive motorized vehicles.

Unfortunately we do not offer private high schools for our program in Brazil.

It is recommended to get vaccinated against tetanus, diphtheria, polio, hepatitis A and B, and yellow fever. Vaccination against rabies and malaria prophylaxis is also recommended.

The regions we offer on a high school stay in Brazil are safe, so you don't have to worry about your safety. We recommend to keep personal valuables either on yourself or in a safe place.
