As the decorations go up and plans for the holiday festivities commence we are all faced with the delightful onslaught of reds, gold and green garlands marking the beginning of yet another seasonal celebration. From the tradition of nativity cribs to the mouth-watering variety of Christmas cuisine the festive season is a time for fun, family and fabulous traditions marking a time of year where memories are made.

As the carols float along in the shopping malls, the Christmas decorations go up and the holiday movies re-emerge on the screens, we at Sprachcaffe have decided to take a look at what the rest of the world does during this festive season.
