Your Pilates Trainer in Spain

Felicija Baćak leads Pilates & Healthy Back in El Chorro. She is a certified Pilates trainer and medical fitness trainer (A licence), and has worked in holistic health promotion since 2021. Her approach is to share solid knowledge about the spine, posture and movement in a way that sticks in everyday life. She guides each group from the first session to the last.

"Most people arrive saying 'I just have a bad back'. After three days, they realise it isn't their back at all. It's a core that never gets challenged. That's exactly where we start, with exercises you can do on Monday morning at your desk without anyone noticing."

Why Málaga Is the Perfect Setting for a Wellness Retreat in Spain

Málaga is the gateway to Andalusia: sunny for much of the year, easy to reach from almost anywhere in Europe and full of contrasts. Just beyond the city and the coast, the province opens up into mountains, turquoise reservoirs and spectacular gorges. Your retreat takes place in El Chorro, in the green hinterland of Málaga, where the famous Caminito del Rey ends right in the village. You fly into a lively Mediterranean city and arrive in a place of quiet, fresh air and wide views, the ideal setting for a Pilates retreat in Andalusia that gives your body and mind a real break.

Who It's For

This retreat is for anyone who spends long hours at a desk or on their feet, carries tension in their neck and shoulders, or simply wants to give their back some long-overdue attention. You don’t need any Pilates experience: the sessions combine theory with guided practice, so beginners can easily keep up. If you already have some experience, you’ll deepen your understanding of posture, core strength and mobility, and take home knowledge you can put to use straight away in everyday life. Whether you come on your own or with a friend, connections form quickly in a small group surrounded by nature. It all adds up to a Pilates retreat you’ll love looking back on.

FAQ

Yes, you don't need any previous experience. The sessions combine theory with guided practice and build up step by step. That way, you don't just learn the exercises, you also understand why they're good for your back. In a small group of no more than 15 participants, you can ask questions whenever you like, and taking a break is always fine.

Absolutely. Many guests travel solo, and with shared sessions and a small group, you'll quickly feel part of it. Whether it's a chat after courses, a walk through the countryside or dinner together, there's always company when you want it.

A solid basic level is enough. Every exercise is demonstrated, corrected and repeated before you try it yourself, and the theory uses clear language and everyday examples rather than medical jargon.

Accommodation is optional, but most guests choose to stay with us at Hotel La Garganta. You'll live right on the same grounds as the course room and outdoor training areas, so you can go from breakfast to your mat in just a few steps. Choose a single or double room, enjoy breakfast every morning and wind down in the evening with views over the gorge. You're welcome to book your own stay instead, though El Chorro is a small village with only a few options nearby.

Yes, that's the whole idea. All exercises use your own body weight and need no more space than a mat. You'll also learn short routines that fit between meetings, in your home office or at your desk.

Comfortable clothes you can move in, a water bottle and sun protection for outdoor sessions. Mats and basic equipment are provided on site.
