Requirements for entering the USA
If you are an EU citizen and are not planning on staying in the USA for longer than 90 days, you will be able to stay in the country without a VISA. You will however need to apply for a travel authorization in order to enter the USA, even if you are an EU citizen or a national of a country that also doesn't require a VISA. The latest that you should apply for your travel authorization is 72 hours prior to your journey. This application needs to be made with the Department of Homeland Security ESTA whom you will need to pay 14$ and then wait to receive your travel authorization. You will normally receive this straight away, but there can always be exceptions, so be prepared to apply for it well in advance.
The best thing to do would be to print your travel authorization and store it away safely in your hand luggage. It will remain valid for two years, which allows you to travel into the USA multiple times within the specified time. You will need a valid passport, an email address and a credit card (Mastercard, Visa, American Express) in order to complete your application.
Notice: If you have received a new passport or changed your name during the time in which you were planning traveling in and out of the USA, you will need to apply for a new travel authorization with ESTA by following the same procedure that is stated above.
'US Dollars' ($) are the USA's currency. One dollar is made up of 100 cents. There are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 dollar notes. Additionally, there are 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 cents and 1 dollar coins. It is also possible to recieve 500, 1000, 5000 and 10000 dollar notes in the USA. These are no longer being printed nowadays, but are still accepted as payment methods. As such they can still be obtained at rare occasions. You can find the current currency exchange rate here.
The United States of America have a very good health care system in which they provide all of the required sanitation as well as the necessary medication. Depending on the region there can however be greater or lesser distances from your location to the nearest hospital. Medical treatment is expensive and can only be received after prior payment or paying when you are at the hospital. We therefore recommend that you obtain a travel health insurance which will cover your health costs when you are in the USA.
